History of the Laser

The Laser is a fast quick sailing boat even used in the Olympics and is an old design.

Andrew is my Dad's cousin and I sailed in his laser with him. I had about 30 minutes sailing and 20 minutes rigging but its in a 6 minutes long video.

According to the Weir Wood Sailing Club website, The Laser was launched to the public in 1971 at the New York Boat Show.

The Laser Raidial has a way of rigging the boat that uses only 82% of the sail.

In strong wind it is more easy to handle than using all the sail and is faster upwind.

Olympic sailers use the Laser Raidial to train and one person used Raidial in the olympics and won gold!
