Sakhalin island keeps changing who it belongs to between Japan and Russia as it's between both of them.
In 2002, the population of Sakalin island consisted of over 80% of Russians followed by 5.4% Koreans, 4.3% Ukrainians, 1.3% Tartars and quite a lot of nationalaties less than 1%!
