Scout Scar in Cumbria
Scout Scar is a place of special scientific intrest and of european importance to wildlife. It is a limestone ridge and it has marvelous views over Lyth Valley on one side and Kendal to the other.
On top of scout scar is a monument called the mushroom that is used as a shelter.

There is a set of fell races called the Winter Leage. The first race is on Scout Scar in early January. Below is a picture of the Winter Leage Scout Scar race when the juniors set off.
